LC Studio Officially Launches With Kips Bay Decorator Show House

Kips Bay Decorator Show House. In the world of interior design, it needs no introduction. One of the most lauded annual events on the design calendar, we’re privileged to say it also signaled the official launch of LC Studio, which was generously captured in detail by American Vogue. Joining some of the most prestigious designers from across the country, our brief was to transform the iconic Old Preston Hollow estate into our own.

We responded with the Midnight Lounge.

A moody, sexy, but ultimately fun space, the lounge was our opportunity to reimagine what might have otherwise been turned into the family room. Inspired by our own social gatherings at Cecily’s NYC townhouse, where friends would gravitate for a nightcap after an evening out dining, we knew we wanted to create a space that collected closeness…

We wanted Midnight Lounge to become such an indulgent end to an evening that it was actually only just the beginning.

Care for a nightcap at Midnight Lounge?

As only LC Studio could, we naturally turned to a curated tequila ping-pong table, complete with sterling silver balls! Along with deep loungey banquettes, this space was getting ready to have fun. Now, it needed Cecily’s maximalist passion for layers and color and Lance’s eye for tailored detail before nightcaps became the new de rigueur and Midnight Lounge the ultimate place in which to enjoy them.

The freshness of bay windows was met with unexpected and daring navy lacquer walls. Brushed out into a subtle ombre, they set the scene for cosmopolitan promises of the night to come. Custom sconces were carefully curated to be functional whilst quietly and confidently establishing themselves as pieces of art in their own right. At the back of the bar, white gold-leaf églomisé panels gave the room an almost autumnal reflective glow and demonstrated how subtle light can effortlessly exude drama in décor. Vintage accessories from Maison Gerard, especially the coveted mushroom side tables that delighted Vogue, completed the scene. Lance’s sourcing of Luisa Beccaria cocktail glasses was the fait accompli - not a stone was left unturned in realizing and celebrating every element of this most glorious space.

Celebrations at The Joule

To toast Kips Bay Decorator Show House, our participation in such a prestigious event and the launch of LC Studio, we hosted a glittering soirée at The Joule. Architectural Digest’s market director Madeline O’Malley very graciously joined as our co-host. We were delighted to welcome esteemed guests, including Alex Papachristidis, Holly Moore, Jonathan Savage, Bob Brown, Jamie Drake, Billy Fong, Brian Bolke, Chad Dorsey, Nazira Handal, and Jane Scott Hodges, along with many more.

An evening curated by Todd Events

We asked Dallas native Todd Fiscus and his team at Todd Events to lend their brilliance to the evening. The result was a dining room styled in three sublime tablescapes, each embracing its own sumptuous color scheme. Guests enjoyed a seasonal tomato tart followed by filet of cod, superbly complemented by martinis and margaritas that poured freely from carts flanking the table.

Cecily, Lance and all our team at LC Studio have enjoyed a remarkable official launch and we thank all those involved. With work now underway on an Upper East Side townhouse, a 5th Avenue family apartment, a storied 1920s country home, and the renovation of a regency home in Palm Beach, we wonder how we might bring our boldly luxurious and sophisticated style to your project?
